I just want to share something that really pissed me off today.
The clothing in my city for a Person of Size is ridiculously expensive. It’s about 150$ CAD for a shirt. However, there is a lot of nice, fashionable stuff online so I figured, I’ll apply for a credit card. My disability pension for my Autism means I have steady income so it shouldn’t be much of a problem, I’ve been very fiscally responsible for the past few years.
Now I understand requiring work in your resume. I do.
But am I the only one who sees a problem with HOMEMAKER being an available “Employment option”, but “Disability Pension” is NOT?
I mean it’s not even that homemaker isn’t a viable option for someone’s life. It is. Personally I’d love to be a homemaker (but that involves actually FINDING a partner first).
What I’m expressing anger about is the fact that the bank considers someone who may have been out of paid work for however many years, to be more valuable and deserving of online resources than a person with disability who cannot work no matter how hard xe tries, as is in my case. Even though we are BOTH equally deserving of these resources, because they’d make our lives easier.
